The phenomenon I’m describing is termed “time poverty” - an over-busyness that includes looming sense of anxiety. And most often time poverty affects women, especially those who are heading towards midlife…
…busy with family, career, elderly parents, home life and other responsibilities.
We are perpetually connected to an endless stream of information. With our smartphones and laptops always by our sides we are never free from emails, phone calls and social media. Sometimes we need rest and recharging, yet we just don’t know how to do it without guilt.

Week 1 - Introduction to Free Writing and Journaling
Free writing calms the mind via accessing the subconscious level - you write quickly and freely without thinking about grammar, corrections or re-reading. You simply let your thoughts flow onto the paper… releasing any emotion, worries or perhaps letting go of things holding you back subconsciously. Free writing also helps you to prioritize and synchronize your day ahead.
We’ll close with a 20 minute Yoga Nidra practice.
Week 2 - Simple Relaxation Techniques
Whether you’re in a traffic jam, a long line at the grocery store or having a stressful moment at work/home, your system gets flooded with hormones that wreck havoc on your body. Your muscles tense. Your breathing becomes shallow and rapid. Things feel extra-crazy, that’s exactly when you need to stop, slow down, and de-stress.
Whether you have five minutes between meetings or can spare a few hours, you’ll learn some quick and simple methods to bring calm and space into your day.
Week 3 - Yin Yoga Practice for Stress Relief
Because of its slow and relaxing nature, yin yoga can be calming for both the body and mind. The specific yin yoga poses in this practice, soothe the nervous system and target the areas of the body (shoulders, lower back, and hips) where we typically hold tension caused by stress.
Week 4 - The Importance of Positive Self Talk
Our brains are hardwired to remember negative experiences over positive ones, so we remember the times we didn’t quite get it right more than the times we do. Habitual negative self talk can consume your idle time and bring stress from the past into the present.
While positive self talk helps you reframe the way you look at stressful situations. Positive self talk keeps you in an optimistic place, allowing you to better handle stressful events or circumstances allowing you to solve problems and cope with life’s challenges, thereby reducing stress and its health consequences.
We’ll Close with a 15 minute meditation
